gifts provide training & flexibility

donate online now

Donations to the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund contribute to the success of our borrowers in two very important ways:

  • Annual appeal gifts pay for the specialized education and training that we provide to our borrowers and that set us apart from most lenders.
  • Permanent fund gifts give us the flexibility to shape loans to our borrowers' needs, and will be loaned for essential community projects again and again.

The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity. Contributions to the Community Loan Fund are tax-deductible to the full extent permitted by federal law.

There are a variety of ways to donate to the Community Loan Fund:

There are many types of planned gifts, and nearly all share the following characteristics:
  • Increased income to the donor
  • Avoidance of up-front capital gains taxes when appreciated assets are used
  • A charitable income tax deduction for a portion of the gift Avoidance of estate taxes
  • The opportunity to make a significant, permanent gift to support the ongoing work of the Community Loan Fund
Life-income gifts provide an immediate income tax deduction for a portion of the gift. The exact percentage of the deduction depends upon the age of the income beneficiaries, the type of gift involved, the rate of return, and market conditions. You can name the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund the beneficiary of your life insurance policy, or simply name us as a beneficiary in your will.
It is frequently advantageous to donors to make a gift of appreciated securities. In most cases, the full market value of the securities is deductible, while capital gains taxes are eliminated.
Please talk to your financial adviser about this option.
Many of our supporters have honored loved ones by creating, or contributing to, Named Permanent Funds. They can be opened with a $100,000 gift, or a combination of gifts totaling that amount. These funds make loans available for worthy community projects now and in the future. In turn, those loans generate income to support the Community Loan Fund's ongoing program costs. Current funds are:
  • The Thomas P. Almy Fund
  • The Elliott Berry Fund
  • The John and Pamela Blackford Fund
  • The Alan Cantor Fund
